IPM is a long-standing, science-based, decision-making process that identifies and reduces risks from pests and pest management and related strategies. It co-ordinates the use of pest biology, environmental information, and available technology to prevent unacceptable levels of pest damage by the most economical means, while posing the least possible risk to people, property and the environment.
Pest Management needs to be carried out in a professional manner and on a continued basis throughout the year if maximum infestation control is to be effective. Frequent observation that allows for early detection of potential problems will permit effective and economical control.
